All law students, trainees and recently qualified lawyers are invited to attend the Forum,

organised in conjunction with The University of Law Bloomsbury & the Law Speaks French Society


Members of the Panel will speak and answer questions on different aspects of legal careers at the interface between British and French Law and European law, in the UK, Brussels  and France.

All talks will be in English but questions in French and English are equally welcome.



Simon Horsington – Barrister Grays Inn, former Legal Director Fidelity International, Global Attorney PIMCO, Counsel Regulator IMRO, Founder member of and Vice-President d’Honneur, of  FBLS Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite et de L’Ordre du Mérite Maritime


Miss Gay Bailey – Policy adviser at the Ministry of Justice in Family Law In particular advising HM Government on EU matters relating to family Law

Michael Butcher – Trustee of the Franco-British Council, Consultant, Founder member Franco-British Lawyers Society, former General Counsel Veolia Environnement UK, Officier de l’Ordre National  du Mérite

Annie Guellec-Digby – Principal of the firm Guellec-Digby & Co   French national qualified as an English solicitor with a large national practice where she  ran their “French Desk”. In 2004, she went “solo” and set up her current practice.

Robert Stevenson – French speaker V P of the Society Solicitor – Chartered Arbitrator

Sally Osborn – Notary Public –Using language &  legal skills


Registration from 5.45pm for a prompt start at 6pm
