This will be the Society’s fourth webinar on practical questions and problems presented by Brexit. This event will consider the challenges presented in the context of the United Kingdom and Ireland. We shall be delighted to welcome Judges and senior academics to discuss their perspectives on the practical questions and challenges ahead for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

We will once again have the pleasure of having Ian Forrester QC as Chairman and Sir David Edward giving his summation at the end.

Ian Forrester QC LLD President of the FBLS. Formerly Judge of the General Court of the European Union from 2015 to 2020.
Sir David Edward QC LLD Formerly Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Communities.

The other speakers for this webinar will be:

Professor Katy Hayward Professor of Political Sociology in Queen’s University Belfast. She holds a Senior Fellowship in the UK in a Changing Europe think-tank where she leads a major project on ‘The future and status of Northern Ireland after Brexit.’
The Rt. Hon Lord Justice Bernard McCloskey Judge of the Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland and Former President of the United Kingdom Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum).
Professor Brice Dickson Emeritus Professor of International and Comparative Law at Queen’s University Belfast. His research interests are mainly in judicial activism, human rights law, policing law and employment law. His latest book is The Irish Supreme Court (Oxford University Press, 2019).
Colm Mac Eochaidh, Judge of the General Court, Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg and formerly Judge of the High Court of Ireland.

The Bar Council in Northern Ireland has accredited this event with 2 CPD points.
